I inherited my parents' home about eight years ago, and when I moved in I quickly realized just how old everything was – especially the appliances. I didn't have the money to replace anything so I started renting books from the library and asking handyman friends of mine for advice so I could fix the appliances up and improve their performance. So while a yearly appointment for servicing from a professional is important, I have learned that with the right know-how and just a little effort it's easy to maintain old appliances so that they keep up, at least somewhat, with the newer models on the market. I realize that not everyone has had the time or inclination to learn about servicing their own appliances, so I thought I'd start this website to provide straight forward tips and tricks that anyone can use on the appliances in their own home.
